Spare parts

A 1958 Cadillac fading away on my parents' farm. Its duplicate was a favorite family car in the 1970's and '80's, used for all our long trips. It was inherited in pristine condition from a surgeon. I remember the glove box contained a set of immaculate tools wrapped in chamois. Needless to say, it didn't look like that for long. The one pictured here is an extra, given to my father for spare parts. It lived under a shed until the shed collapsed.

Wasn't this the car you used for Driver's Ed?

24 May 2010 5:40pm

@Jill Hettick Kearney: Close, but no, it's the twin of our family car, which you no doubt remember my mother driving. My driver's ed car was a '54 Ford (try parallel parking in that), which, sadly, had already been towed away by the time I started taking photos. Unfortunately, I was also too late to catch your dad's convertible, which we used and loved for so many years.
